Until tonight I was undecided on my feelings about In The Flesh. I have decided: It is amazing!
I have just spent the last 20 minutes of my life crying my eyes out at a show that, only last week, I was completely indifferent about. Everything came together and the character development was fantastic.
I will put the rest of the comments under the Read More to avoid spoilers.
I don’t believe this series is so short, I was worried for a while that I wouldn’t have time to decide whether I would continue watching if they create a second series, but now I’m just hoping that they will!
Obviously, it doesn’t even begin to live up to the standards of Being Human, but I never expected it to. There is nothing I love more than Being Human, but since that is over and I need to move on, I am proud that the 10.00 Sunday spot was taken by In The Flesh.
I knew Rick was going to die. His father was a complete idiot and if anything was going to budge, it would be his feelings towards Rick, not his feelings towards PDSS. But when it happened it was kind of heartbreaking. I was never particularly attached to Rick, but it was so clear that Kieran was (he killed himself because of it). But it is nice to see Kieran’s family supporting him in a way that Rick’s [father] would never be able to. So this time Kieran can survive Rick’s death and his family finally has a chance to discuss what happened.
I think Kieran is a great character and I hope we get to see more of him. especially as I’m interested to find out about Amy and the place she’s gone. They obviously want to do another series if possible, or that plot has no purpose.
If anybody wants to discuss, come to my ask box :)
